London | UKLearning NewsWatson Martin

First time pass rates up, more top marks, plus higher than national average results. Watson Martin Partnership again celebrates an excellent set of CIPD examination results with 83% of first time candidates achieving success and many more than the national average receiving distinctions and merits. Overall, out of the 60 Watson Martin Partnership candidates who sat the exams in Human Resource Management in Context (HRC) and Leading, Managing and Developing People (LMP) in May, 78% were awarded a pass or higher compared to 75% nationally.

Results for HRC were outstanding with almost nine out of ten (89%) students passing the exam against 74% nationally. Of these, 39% achieved a merit or distinction compared to an average of 16% from other CIPD centres. Nearly three quarters of the partnership’s LMP candidates passed with 41% achieving top marks compared to over a fifth nationally.

This year to date, 82% of all Watson Martin Partnership LMP candidates and 85% of those sitting HRC exams have achieved a pass or higher compared to 73% and 71% respectively from other CIPD centres.

“These latest figures show without a doubt that our candidates do far better in these challenging exams than the national average, particularly when it comes to achieving top marks,” said Managing Partner, Melanie Martin. “Watson Martin Partnership has been a CIPD approved centre for over 13 years and this wealth of practical and academic experience helps to guide our candidates through the advanced qualifications. These results reflect both this experience along with the hard work and dedication of our students, who go the extra mile to succeed in all aspects of their studies.  We are always impressed by the way these diligent HR professionals can balance work, life and learning,” she added.

As part of the CIPD Advanced Diploma learning package with Watson Martin Partnership, candidates are able to attend four workshops to ensure they are fully prepared for both exams.  Recent evaluation revealed that 99% of students described these workshops as either ‘excellent or good’ with nine out of ten describing the tutor’s knowledge as ‘excellent.’

Advanced Diploma candidates who follow an Active Learning route with WMP can attend nine workshops and have seven one-to-one sessions with a dedicated personal adviser to support their learning.  Distance Learning and Bespoke candidates are able to attend four exam-based workshops and have 10 one-to-one sessions with their adviser.  Additionally, all candidates have access to WMP’s highly innovative Virtual Learning Environment where they can take advantage of an extensive range of online resources including: structured activities, exam questions, podcasts and personal feedback to provide the depth and breadth of knowledge required for advanced modules.

The Level 7 Advanced Diploma is the most widely recognised professional qualification in HR and the highest level of CIPD qualification, providing a broad range of practical knowledge and skills.  Being “fully CIPD qualified” is essential for most senior HR roles. Watson Martin Partnership has recently launched a new fast track Advanced Certificate in HR for those who want to get qualified in as little as eight months.
