The award recognises an HR professional or team that has added demonstrable value to their organisation through an innovative, clever or determined solution.
Elior used THRIVE Learning & Skills Platform to overhaul its traditional, face-to-face-heavy L&D approach and build a learning culture powered by social interaction and greater accessibility to learning opportunities for its 10,000 employees.
Thrive@Elior launched in May 2021, with the slogan, “Your learning, your choice, your time”. Since then, the team has achieved impressive results.
Over 100,000 pieces of content have been completed, less than 1% of which is mandatory, showcasing a culture of self-directed learning. And, out of almost 3,500 total content items, 44% are user-generated, connecting Elior’s UK-wide teams and circulating their knowledge.
In Elior’s Chef School, they used Thrive@Elior to move elements of the programme online:
The programme went from 9 months to 6 months, saving huge costs on travel and accommodation and fast-tracking new chefs into the business;
With pre-class content on the platform, students enter the kitchen prepared, confident, and ready to ask questions - improving food quality; and
They’ve enrolled a much more diverse set of people, reaching new places and new learners, with subtitled, replayable content making a world of difference to trainees with learning difficulties.
Elior has also seen improvements across the board in its internal engagement survey, with 89% saying they have the support to develop themselves, 87% saying they feel proud to work for Elior, and 83% saying they would recommend Elior as a great place to work.
The winners of this year’s Personnel Today Awards will be announced on Tuesday 15 November 2022 at the London awards night.
