Allen Brown, Chief Executive Officer for The Open Group, welcomes the understanding: “We are delighted to be working with the BCS on promoting vendor neutral IT certification programs for IT professionals. This collaboration will see both organisations sharing information and expertise to encourage and support IT practitioners across the world in their careers and their professional development.”

The understanding will allow the two organisations to support joint programs and projects to explore the scope, characteristics and specifications of professionalism in IT across the globe. The two organisations will work collaboratively to cross promote qualifications, professional development, exhibitions, conferences, and publications.

David Clarke, BCS Chief Executive Officer explains: “This is an exciting move for both organisations as we continue our work to develop the IT profession globally. Together we will explore the scope of professionalism and work to raise further the competency levels of professionals working within the industry.”
