QA helps Scottish businesses with funded training
QA, the UK’s leading training company, is helping small Scottish businesses benefit from up to £500 funding, per employee, for training.
QA is helping Scottish businesses with up to 50 employees to claim up to £500 funding per employee for training under the Flexible Training Opportunities programme. The programme was launched in July by Keith Brown, the Minister for Skills and Lifelong Learning.
QA is working in partnership with Skills Development Scotland to make the most of this funding opportunity. To qualify, organisations must be in the private sector and have no more than 50 employees. Organisations can claim for up to 10 employees – so a total of £5,000 is available per company.
The goal of the programme is to help organisations through the period of economic recovery – and beyond.
According to the company’s commercial director, Bill Walker, QA is better placed than any other organisation to help companies make the most of this funding. “We offer over 1500 courses,” says Walker, “on almost every aspect of business and computer skills. We have a course for everyone. And, with training centres in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, we have excellent geographic coverage as well.”
QA’s portfolio of training courses includes:
Desktop applications training (such as Microsoft Office)
Technical IT training (everything from Windows to Linux)
Project and programme management training (including PRINCE2)
ITIL and service management training
Management and personal development training (such as sales skills)
“We’ll also help companies to choose exactly the best training for their own needs,” says Walker. “All they need to do is give us a call on 0845 757 3888 and we’ll be ready to provide sound, friendly advice on the most effective courses for their business.”
The funding is available now. “Businesses need to move quickly, though,” concludes Walker. “Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.”
