Slough, UKLearning NewsQA

QA Ltd, the UK market leader in IT training has partnered with Microsoft in an exciting new initiative for potential young apprentices in London, Thames Valley, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. Immediately available, these IT apprenticeship vacancies are worked based. This means that the participants are full time employees from day one with a company that is a Microsoft partner, and are supported by an extensive training programme.

This current phase of vacancies is just the beginning of a nationwide programme to create job opportunities for many young people throughout the UK.

Microsoft have selected QA to be the training provider, as they are UK leaders in IT technical training and every year train more than 200,000 people, including 60% of all individuals that take a Microsoft course in the UK.

"We are delighted to be able to facilitate such a high quality apprenticeship scheme for our business partners in conjunction with QA," said Stephen Uden, Head of Skills & Economic Affairs at Microsoft Ltd. "This scheme not only helps young people, but it also meets the needs of companies by developing the IT talent required for the future."

The IT apprenticeship programme is open to young people with 5 or more GCSE's, and provides a blend of work and training, leading to recognised national qualifications as a Level 3 Apprenticeship (2 A Level equivalent) and vendor certification.

"At a time when the future employment of young people has been depressed by the economic cloud, it is fantastic that we can provide the silver lining," Ben Pike Director of QA Apprenticeships enthused, "The creation of hundreds of IT jobs with Microsoft partners, combined with our professional learning environment is an outstanding opportunity for those who are successfully taken on as IT Apprentices."

This scheme is not only beneficial to young people, but also offers employers access to government funding to fully* train the apprentice, providing additional cost-effective IT skills in this ever developing digital economy.
