Thomas Lee, Chief Technologist at QA, the UK’s leading provider of training and consulting, has been awarded the prestigious title of Microsoft Regional Director for his technical leadership and contribution to Microsoft communities.

Regional Director status has been awarded to only 130 independent Microsoft practitioners worldwide, selected for their breadth and depth of technical knowledge and their ability to communicate with developer and business communities.

Operations Director, Hugh Morris commented: “We at QA are immensely proud of Thomas’s outstanding achievement. As a Microsoft Regional Director, he is a member of an elite, highly-valued group of professionals. Thomas’s technical expertise and understanding of the business application of Microsoft technologies help our clients reach their business goals.”

Lee, a long-standing MVP (Most Valuable Professional) and technical author with over 20 years experience as a Microsoft technologist, consultant and trainer, gains a direct relationship with the Microsoft Product Development team, access to pre-release Microsoft technology and data and a network of industry and technology experts.

“Regional Directors are seasoned industry professionals who have the experience and expertise to solve the most challenging business problems,” said Eileen Crain, global regional director programme manager at Microsoft Corp. “Microsoft recognises Thomas’s valuable contribution to real-life implementations of Microsoft solutions. Equally, his role as Chief Technologist at QA, a UK leader for IT training, crowns his place in an industry where Regional Directors are so highly valued.”

The primary purpose of the Regional Director programme is to share information about Microsoft technologies with developer communities and business audiences around the world. Regional Directors provide an in-depth, objective view of Microsoft technologies and, in turn, communicate feedback from developers and clients to Microsoft’s Product Development team.
