Cursim helps Beyond the Pill to empower students in California
Cursim, Omniplex’s learning design and development division, has helped Beyond the Pill transform its face-to-face training into mobile learning; to empower and engage its millennial target audience.
Beyond the Pill (BTP), a program of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, promote access and equity in contraceptive healthcare, and strive to build the research foundation to transform clinical care and women’s lives worldwide.
BTP share impartial, unbiased information to college students. Having previously shared this information through classroom training, they noticed a short-fall in their approach and contacted Cursim to transform their training into an engaging eLearning course. Designed with learners in mind, the course was mobile-optimized and embedded with engaging animation to grab the attention of BTP’s millennial audience.
Commenting on the course, Justine Swain, Instructional Designer at Cursim said “This was a really interesting project to work on. It was important to portray this sensitive subject matter in an engaging way, without detracting from its importance. We formed a true, collaborative partnership with the team at Beyond the Pill, which resulted in a really impactful course.”
BTP are currently studying the effect of their new eLearning course, along with supplementary learning materials, among students at 20 community colleges across California.
