Among the decision factors, KP considered that itslearning is particularly strong in the ease of use, curriculum and overview, communication capabilities on the platform, and price. itslearning serves now more than 125 000 teachers and students in the university college market in Denmark.

After a rigorous tender process, University College Copenhagen – Københavns Professionshøjskole (KP) – has awarded itslearning the contract.

itslearning has a pedagogical focus that helps teachers to improve their teaching with a student centric approach. In light of this, University College Copenhagen concluded that itslearning is the platform that best supports their academic expectations.

The selection process according to University College Copenhagen: ‘After a long and thorough preparation, it was decided that itslearning will be KP's common learning platform going forward. The learning platform selection process was launched almost a year ago with a thorough pre-analysis and user survey. In the selection process, the highest criterion was the quality criterion with 75%, while economics weighed 25%. Three suppliers chose to tender, and all three products were tested by a broadly composed evaluation group. itslearning scored highest in quality evaluation and was the most economically offer over a 7-year period. The group considered that itslearning is the most user-friendly system and finds itslearning is particularly strong in the following areas: curriculum and overview, easy access to teaching material, communication capabilities on the platform, student progression and the ability of teachers to follow students' digital engagement on the platform and access from all devices (such as mobile phones and tablets).’

According to Peter Flodin – Head of Library and IT – ‘KP is choosing itslearning as the common LMS because it needs to be able to collaborate and teach across programmes and locations. With a common LMS, it is easy to collaborate across educational programmes and cross-professional activities. Overlapping of courses will be particularly challenging without a common LMS. Students will experience the same system across all modules and teams. Uniform experience in KP. Contributes to a common identity for staff and students.’

itslearning - strong standing in higher education Denmark

After the decision was announced earlier this month, itslearning and KP are preparing the implementation for KP’s more than 20 000 full time students and approximately 2 000 staff. Adding these users to the existing base of VIA University College, UCL University college, University College Southern Denmark and University College Absalon, itslearning serves now more than 125 000 teachers and students in the university college market in Denmark.

“We are honoured to be awarded with this tender and have signed the fifth university college in Denmark. Our partnerships with our customers are built upon close collaboration and extensive experience in the learning platform market space. We at itslearning pride ourselves on knowing the needs of education and work closely with teachers to understand their needs.” said Thomas Gunleiksrud, VP of International Sales at itslearning.
