NCC Education awarded advanced standing by Salford University

The University of Salford have awarded NCC Education's International Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies advanced standing onto their undergraduate degree courses. The move is a first for the University and extends the study options available to NCC Education graduates.

The Information Systems Institute (ISI) offers a range of undergraduate degree courses including Business Information Systems, Business Information Technology and eCommerce Systems. A wide range of elective modules are available allowing students to specialise in their area of interest. All degrees offered by the ISI reflect the 6* research rating in Information Systems - this is the highest possible university research rating awarded by the British Government.

First Year Entry

Graduates of NCC Education's International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies are encouraged to apply (via accreditation of prior learning) to join the final year of the BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology and BSc (Hons) eCommerce Systems degrees starting in September 2004.

Second Year Entry

NCC Education International Diploma in Computer Studies graduates who achieve an overall average of 55% can apply to the second year of the ISI's degree courses.

NCC Education students who are accepted by the University will receive tuition and guidance from some of the leading Information Systems researchers in the world. In 12 months, successful Advanced Diploma students can receive an honours degree from probably the leading Information Systems school in the UK. It's an excellent opportunity to lead the way in today's knowledge-based societies." said Paul Spedding, Associate Head of School, ISI, at a recent meeting with NCC Education Managing Director, David Pottinger.

Postgraduate Studies

NCC Education students who have completed their International Degree Pathway and have been awarded a BSc (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems awarded by London Metropolitan University are also encouraged to apply to ISI to gain a MSc in their chosen field of study. Postgraduate courses available include eGovernance, Information Systems, Information Technology (conversion), Managing Information Technology and Virtual Environments.

University of Salford and NCC Education are also working together to see how students who are not able to study in the UK can complete the University's undergradute programmes in one of NCC Education 350 centres around the world.
