NCC Education and Aston Swann launch partnership
Aston Swann has joined with NCC Education to provide a one-stop shop for the purchase of Courseware, Registration, Logbooks, Assessments and Tests to schools and colleges with candidates working towards the ECDL qualification.
The ‘Complete’ programme is priced to give schools and colleges, who are accredited ECDL test centres, significant savings over buying the courseware, tests and logbooks separately.
Wendy Swann, Director of ECDL for Educators products, says “Many schools and colleges have asked us to co-ordinate the registration process for them. The demand for our latest XP programme with Pupil Projects has highlighted the requirement to register large numbers of KS3 and KS4 pupils at one time. There needed to be a simpler route. I am delighted that in combining our courseware with the Tests from NCC Education and with the support of the British Computer Society, we have been able to achieve this”.
The ‘Complete’ programme is available with e-Learning Credits via Curriculum on Line. ECDL for Education courseware builds on IT Key skills levels 2 & 3 and supports current government education initiatives. The additional comprehensive training and support programme enables ICT co-ordinators to implement, manage and support their learners throughout the ECDL and BCS IT User qualifications.
The ECDL qualification requires 7 Tests. The new BCS Certificate for IT Users encompasses 8 tests being ECDL modules 1, 2 and 7 for Level 1, and ECDL modules 3, 4, 5 and 6 plus an extra ‘Unit E’ for Level 2. As part of the National Curriculum Framework, the BCS IT User Qualification earns points for School and College Achievement and Attainment Tables equivalent to GCSE.
