Talent management - potential into performance

Oxfordshire, UKLearning NewsMatchett

World-leading business skills and learning technology solutions provider, Matchett, is this month set to deliver its most challenging event yet with an insightful look at how to unlock the talent within organisations.

The invitation only event, 'Talent Management - Potential into Performance', will give delegates the opportunity to hear from leading keynote speakers in the field of talent management, including Cisco's Chretien Van der Aa, Learn.Com's Michael Sabbag and best selling author, explorer, adventurer and innovator, Jonathan Blain and Matchett's own Antony Goodman.

The speakers at the free event, to be held in the City of London on the 29th of November, will share their expertise and experiences of managing talent and provide answers to the question: 'How do you turn people's potential into top performance?
Delegates will also learn how Matchett supports people development initiatives.

Philippa Thomas, Matchett's director of Business Learning Services, said the basis for the event was to tackle a strategic issue and to provide usable solutions to a global problem.

She explained that with Matchett being an organisation with clients around the globe and being trusted to help deliver learning solutions for these large corporations, it is well placed to spot trends developing and to create tailored responses.

She said: "We've found the 'war for talent' as predicted by McKinsey back in 1998 is now a harsh reality for many organisations.

"We consulted senior HR leaders in client organisations in advance of the event and they told us there is a wealth of field research available from various professional bodies, to guide and inform the process of establishing a framework for turning people's high potential into top performance. However, they also said the roadmap is not quite as straightforward in the real world as the research may suggest - particularly where the challenge is mindset rather than process.

"When you consider factors such as low unemployment levels, persistent skills shortages and the changing expectations of the workplace, these ensure 'Talent Management' is a constant strategic priority for HR directors. It's fair to say the battle to attract, retain and develop high potential, right skilled people, is being fought on a global scale."

She added: "At Matchett, we are passionate in our belief that high potential exists at all levels within an organisation - for example, 35% of staff working in call centres are graduates - and that Learning & Development can be the key to unlocking and leveraging that potential."

Delegates will be able to use the event to network over lunch and meet other professionals. There are a limited number of tickets still available. To obtain an invitation and to make a ticket enquiry, please email [email protected]
