Elliott Masie has announced a collaboration with AARP on a special "50 Plus & Learning" project at Learning 2014, taking place October 26-29 in Orlando, Florida. AARP will be featured as a co-host and cooperating organization at Learning 2014.

“The conversation about Generations often focuses on the millennials. But the role of the 50 Plus generation in the workplace and as continuous learners is also critically important,” says Masie, Host of Learning 2014 and Chair of the Learning CONSORTIUM. “We are pleased to add a special focus on 50 Plus as learners - in the workplace and in their next chapters of life/work style - and we are excited and honored to work with our learning colleagues at AARP on this collaboration.”

AARP will co-host a series of “50 Plus & Learning” elements at Learning 2014. Representatives from AARP will help lead sessions and conversations with event participants about the various opportunities and challenges that come with working and learning once employees are 50 Plus.

“50 Plus & Learning” will be featured at several sessions and Meet-Ups at Learning 2014. This project will ask several key questions about “50 Plus & Learning”:

  • What happens as our more senior employees decide NOT to retire? What happens to their development plans and the career plans of younger colleagues in their team?
  • What are the shifts in learning style, preferences or approaches of more senior employees? How do they adapt as their learning approaches may shift?
  • What are emerging models for 50 Plus employees in the workforce and how do generations best collaborate in corporate culture?
  • How do 50 Plus use or desire to use technology differently?

Learning 2014 will be held in Orlando, Florida from October 26 to 29, 2014. Early Registration Discounts and Group Discounts now available. Registration is available online at http://www.learning2014.com.
