Where will we work as we emerge from the pandemic into an even more technologically-enabled world? We will explore the likely changes to our working habits in the future – not just where we work, but how we go about it, and the secondary effects this will have on our lives, as individuals and employers.

Another key question demanding an answer: what skills will we need in the future? We will look at detailed, international research suggesting that some skills and attitudes are clearly aligned to greater employability and are likely to be much sought after in the future. That may be predictable, but you may be surprised by one thing: not all these skills are what one would expect.

Finally, we will explore how technology will help us support learning in the future – going well beyond the delivery of training materials to explore the implications for how we approach talent, and the compelling need for a language to describe skills, the currency of business today.

Learning Technologies Conference Chair, Donald H Taylor, said: “For our second plenary session we look at the future – where are we headed in the world of learning at work? The route may not be entirely clear, but our experts, Anita Lettink and Marco Dondi, are ready to help illuminate the way.”
