Top Technology Firm Introduces £40,000 University Scholarship scheme

The best and brightest university students will get a taste of working at top technology company, Learning Pool, thanks to a new scholarship scheme announced today.

The scholarships are the latest addition to a number of initiatives at Learning Pool, aimed to tap into the talent of our young people, help them financially and to let them to learn about life in a high growth technology company.

Professor Liam Maguire from the University of Ulster said: “In addition to the financial reward, the Learning Pool Scholarship provides students with a unique taste of how rewarding, exciting and within-reach working in technology is. This is a great opportunity for any student to gain the experience of working for one of the leading technology firms in Northern Ireland”.

Two successful students will begin their Learning Pool Scholarship with a paid 12 week summer placement in July 2015. They will each receive a bursary in the second and fourth year of their university course, with a full-time paid placement secured at Learning Pool for their third year.

Learning Pool CEO, Paul McElvaney said: “We’ve got a proud record when it comes to giving local people a great start to their careers and this has been central to our continued success as a company. We’ve introduced these scholarships to give students a unique opportunity to experience life at Learning Pool. We promise it’ll be hard work, but we’ll make sure the successful students get a fantastic start, with a dedicated mentor so that they have the best possible experience.”
