Training 2010 delegates to kick start social learning with Liz Cable
Social learning expert Liz Cable will speak at The Institute of IT Training (IITT) Training 2010 conference on Social Learning. Her interactive, cafe-style session will take delegates through what they need to get started and to progress in social learning, describing practical steps that are effective without necessarily costing anything.
“Although we’ll examine them, the important thing is not the tools,” explains Liz, of Reach Further, “it’s the learning. People already learn socially, naturally, right now. My session is about exploring the best practice and the good experience that already exists and making sure delegates are ready to take action as soon as they return to the office.” To help with this, Liz will be running a free post-conference webinar a month after the event, to help delegates progress with social learning.
Liz is keen to focus on the practical. “Reach Further has developed the "cohesion" model of social learning" it's about making an active difference, and – importantly – about helping people to learn, not about teaching them "stuff". This conference session is a great opportunity for us all to learn from each other – exploring some free online tools as we do - that’s social learning!”
Liz’s session is entitled ‘Social Learning - delivering online learning that works" and runs on September 8th. The IITT conference and exhibition, Training 2010, takes place in London on September 7-8. For more details, see http://bit.ly/IITTConf10. The event Twitter hashtag is #IITT10.
