Best practice in IT training Awards 2002

Learning NewsLPI (Learning and Performance Institute)

Yes, it’s that time of year again to get your entries in for the IT Training Awards 2002.

The Institute of IT Training hosts the annual IT Training Awards to recognise outstanding examples of high standards, best practice and innovation within IT training.

The awards are presented at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London, at the Institute's prestigious Awards Dinner, held in the first week of February each year. This year, the event will be held on Thursday 7th February and will be hosted by TV presenter and broadcaster Fiona Armstrong.

A new feature for the Awards Dinner this year is The IITT Charity Auction. There will be five major prizes to bid for (worth approx £3,000 each) and all money raised will be donated to charity.

Being a not for profit organisation, the Institute relies on the awards for its major fund raising activities. It is therefore hoped that the IT training industry will support the Institute through this event in order to carry out its mission to raise standards in IT training in both the commercial and education sectors.

There are many opportunities for enterprises to support the event, the Institute, and the IT training industry in general, through a comprehensive package of sponsorships.

The Institute invites individuals, departments and training companies to enter for this year’s awards. There is no fee for entry and no restriction on the number of categories for which you may enter.

IT Training Awards 2002 – Sponsorship Opportunities

There are many opportunities for enterprises to support the event, the Institute, and the IT training industry in general, through a comprehensive package of sponsorships. Listed below are the various sponsorship options, together with a corresponding list of benefits afforded to the sponsor. Please note that the Institute will not invoice for the sponsorships until after the awards ceremony – February 2002.

Sponsorship packages

For the 2002 event, there are nine individual award categories open to sponsorship. For the sponsorship fee, the sponsors can benefit from the following benefits:

  • Sponsors’ logo on the award, the IITT web site, all marketing collateral, dinner menu, on the awards night television screen on the stage, and in awards advertising in IT Training
  • Award presented by the Sponsor
  • A prominent table at the awards, seating ten (normal cost £1250)
  • Entrance to the exclusive Sponsors’ VIP Lounge
For the 2002 awards, there are nine categories of awards to sponsor.

The cost for individual award sponsorship is £6,500 (£7,500 for the blue riband awards of Training Company of the Year and Trainer of the Year).

Menu

There is a table menu for every guest (400) and this attractively presented menu can be sponsored for £2,500. Your logo and description will be printed on the front cover of the table menu.

Sponsors’ VIP Lounge

This is a new feature of the Awards Dinner and is exclusively for Sponsors to meet and relax before and during the awards ceremony itself. Complimentary champagne/Bucks Fizz is available for all sponsors. The Sponsors’ Lounge will feature the your logo prominently in the room. The cost for sponsorship is £3,000.

Entertainment

After the awards ceremony is completed, it’s party time for all guests. This year the entertainment will comprise a top quality DJ and the Entertainment Sponsor will have their logo prominently displayed on the stage as the evening’s entertainment sponsor. Cost for sponsorship is £2,500.

Charity Auction Sponsorships

This is a major new feature of the Institute’s Awards Dinner and is designed to raise some significant money for charitable causes.

There will be five major prizes to bid for (worth £3,000) and guests will buy a numbered bidding card to hold up to the auctioneer to register a bid.

We are looking for sponsors of the five prizes (open to any organisation) as well as looking for a sponsor for the individual bidding cards (which will contain the sponsor’s logo).

Sponsorship price is £3,000 for each of the five prizes and £1,500 for the bidding cards.

The sponsor of the prize will present the prize as well as choosing the charity to receive the proceeds of their category.

We feel that this extra highlight of the event will gain much publicity and will have the benefit of being able to help those less fortunate than ourselves, on what is undoubtedly the IT Training Event of the Year.
