Lee joined the Currie Motors group as an apprentice in 1995 and has worked at the Barnet dealership since 2002. He achieved his accreditation at the Toyota training facility and he is one of over a thousand Toyota technicians who have now gained ATA status since it was launched in 2005.

To mark the 11,000th milestone, Lee was presented with a bottle of champagne and a cheque for £200 by Jenni Hearmon from the professional recognition team at the IMI.

Robert Haining, Aftersales Manager at Currie Motors Barnet said:
“Congratulations to Lee who has worked hard to achieve this accreditation. Since joining us here at Barnet, Lee has impressed us with his continued commitment and dedication and receiving industry recognition is not only beneficial to Lee but also to the business as a whole.”

Since the public launch of ATA at the British International Motor Show in July, the ‘You know you’re OK with ATA’ message has so far been broadcast to more than 9 million consumers in the UK, with advertisements in local newspapers, drive time radio commercials and featured alongside some of the biggest names on the web.

Sarah Sillars OBE, Chief Executive of the IMI said:
“Reaching the 10,000th mark in July saw the start of a major new journey for the ATA scheme, as we began to get the brand recognised by motorists. Now, only a few months later, we have reached 11,000 technicians and rewarding technicians like Lee and their employers who’ve got involved in ATA through a concerted effort to raise public awareness remains a key objective for the IMI. We want motorists to understand that you know you’re OK with ATA.”
