AT-Learning® Implementation will mean greater efficiency, says NHS Trust

As organisations become increasingly sophisticated in their learning technologies procurement, buyers seek greater return on their investment

The Oldham Primary Care Trust, responsible for providing and overseeing community based health services to 227,000 people in the borough of Oldham are investing in a new learning management system.

Linda Sheldon, Education & Training Adviser (Blended Learning) at Oldham PCT said that buying a new learning management system saved time and will improve efficiency.

“We are aiming for a fully integrated Learning Management System to ensure that the Trust runs smoothly. Although the current system works ok, it does not link with the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) so staff have to input data manually which takes time of course and creates extra pressure on our administrative function.

“We considered the OLM solution in its current form and felt that this would be a backward step for us. As we had also implemented ikonami’s e-KSF Tool we recognised the potential benefits of having a direct link through the Personal Development Plan and therefore, decided that ikonami’s AT-Learning® was our best solution.”

AT-Learning® is a leading web based learning management system developed by ikonami, one of the UK’s most innovative IT consultancies, in partnership with the National Health Service.

It is a completely web based system and provides education development professionals with a powerful platform to manage learning activities, deliver eLearning and offer blended learning solutions.

Engineered using ikonami’s Development by Democracy® methodology, it allows users to benefit from constantly evolving functionality financed entirely from licence fees.

Ikonami’s CEO Kubair Shirazee said Oldham PCT had proved that ikonami’s software was defining how the NHS of the future will work.

‘Buying AT-Learning® will mean greater productivity and efficiency for everyone concerned. This will help all stake-holders including patients, visitors and, of course, the staff.

‘AT-Learning® is a testament to how Development by Democracy® delivers software fit for purpose. We look forward to implementing AT-Learning® and supporting Oldham PCT in making their Learning and Development function, a strategic service improvement function."
