gtslearning has today announced the launch of two new courses to prepare students for the revised CompTIA A+ Certification.

This Autumn, CompTIA will introduce a major update to the successful CompTIA A+ Certification programme. Nearly 700,000 people around the world have qualified with CompTIA A+ Certification to date, making it the most popular vendor-neutral IT qualification.

The update will address significant changes to technology that have taken place since the last release in 2003. In addition, to reflect changing IT support roles, students will certify by taking one core exam plus one elective exam from a pool of three.

gtslearning, one of the world’s leading providers of courseware content for CompTIA certifications, has developed two new courses for the upgraded qualification. gtslearning benefits from being the only international Cornerstone Funding Partner for CompTIA A+ Certification and is also represented on the CompTIA A+ Certification Advisory Committee.

Available to order in beta with immediate effect, the two courses prepare students for all four new exams.
‘A+ Certification Essentials’ covers the core hardware and operating system skills needed to pass the ‘CompTIA A+ Essentials’ exam (code 220-601).
‘A+ Certification Electives’ includes many practical ‘hands-on’ labs and content for all three electives: IT Technician, Remote Support Technician and Depot Technician (codes 220-602, 603 and 604 respectively).

Robin Adda, Managing Director of gtslearning, commented:
“We have worked closely for CompTIA for nearly ten years to promote A+ Certification and develop an international market for the qualification. I am pleased to announce these new titles as they reaffirm our commitment to supporting both CompTIA and vocational qualifications.
“It is also rewarding to know that, through our seat on the advisory committee, we have been able to provide an input into this major qualification update. This refresh will ensure that CompTIA A+ Certification remains a valid career enhancer for many thousands around the world.”

The new gtslearning courseware will be submitted for approval through the CompTIA Authorised Quality Curriculum programme once the exams have moved from beta to live status.
