gtslearning has announced an extension to its portfolio of LabSim self-study courses with the inclusion of an additional student lab manual with each course. The lab manual reinforces study carried out on the PC and serves as a practical reference tool for completing a LabSim course.

gtslearning, a London-based education solutions provider, has today announced enhancements to its portfolio of LabSim interactive self-paced products.

LabSim includes self-paced CBT content with unique simulation technology for nine key certifications from CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft and Novell.

Each LabSim product will enable students to fast-track their networking technology skills through:

  • Learning: Video-based instruction covers the certification content;

  • Practising: User-friendly simulations help students practice their skills in a safe, real-life environment and save on valuable learning resources;

  • Testing: Extensive practice tests are included to offer progressive guidance to the student and to serve as a full exam preparation tool.
From today, each LabSim product is now provided with a student lab manual which serves as an additional reference for practical simulation lessons on the PC, enabling LabSim to be delivered as a true blended learning package.
LabSim is a proven technology used by commercial and academic education leaders worldwide as well as individuals pursuing IT certifications. First-time pass rates are in excess of 86% for students using LabSim products.

A further title has been added to the already comprehensive portfolio to prepare students for Microsoft Certified Professional exam: 70-299 (Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Network). This new product can be used as part of the LabSim Windows 2003 MCSE track and as a complement to further security training (such as Security+ Certification which is also available as a LabSim product).

Robin Adda, Managing Director of gtslearning, commented:

"We are seeing significant growth in demand both in the UK and overseas for the LabSim products. Since we launched LabSim in the UK last year, they have become one of our most popular self-study products.

"The new lab manuals provide students with a blended way of learning. By providing a printed lab manual, students can get anytime, anywhere access to high-quality learning content. Training providers can also now offer a true blended learning experience with LabSim. We believe that LabSim offers the best mix of practical study and cost effective learning currently available for IT certifications."
