Free learning trial for IT professionals

London, UKLearning Newsgtslearning

GTSLearning, a leading provider of learning content and delivery solutions, is offering a free learning trial for people wishing to certify as CISCO, CompTIA, Microsoft and Novell professionals.

Participants will be provided with a key which will entitle them to one month's use of the selected self-paced course totally free of charge, during which time they will be able to assess the quality and value of the learning, and decide whether they wish to purchase this or any other course.

Developed by US-based TestOut Corporation and represented internationally by gtslearning, these 'LabSim' study tools are available as a stand alone internet-activated CD or on a site license basis for network, intranet or web deployment.

Marketed by GTSLearning as its 'Learn, Practice and Test' series of interactive CBT self-paced courses, these courses prepare students for certification exams through:
- Learning: Video-based instruction facilitates the learning process and retains the interest of the learner;
- Practising: User-friendly lifelike practical lab simulations turn exercises into enjoyable experiences and help students practice their skills in a risk-free, real-life environment;
- Testing: Extensive practice tests are included to offer the student exam practice, preparation and assessment and simulate the real certification exam.

gtslearning will also be making the free trial offer available to colleges and to schools for use with the ITQ (formerly the NVQ in IT) and / or the Applied GCSE in ICT for the 14-19 year group. Having gained approval from Curriculum Online, courses are eligible for the government eLCs (e-learning credits).

"We are delighted to be representing TestOut's unique range of LabSim self-paced learning content" said Robin Adda, Managing Director of GTSLearning. "Historically learning has been separated from testing, and practice is only available in the classroom. Today we are offering students who study at their own pace the complete learning experience in one package, by combining online learning, testing and simulation technology for practical labs at an affordable price. Together with a tracking system which enables the 'virtual classroom' instructor to track their students' progress, the LabSim portfolio of courses offers a unique flexibility that enables it to be used with multiple learning methods including e-learning and self-study."
