GTSlearning plc, a leading global provider of IT courseware and delivery solutions, has today announced three significant successes in the South Africa region - two major awards from CompTIA and appointment as joint-chair of the Materials Provider Forum.

GTSlearning has become the very first recipients of CompTIA's new Gold Training Materials Provider accreditation. This award has been made in recognition of the high quality standards of GTSlearning courseware. GTSlearning already holds the CompTIA Authorized Quality Curriculum standard for key course materials.

Additionally, GTSlearning is working with CompTIA to develop and promote the new E2C programme in South Africa and has become the first nominated commercial member of this programme. E2C is a CompTIA initiative to develop vendor-neutral support standards within the academic community.

GTSlearning has also been appointed as the joint chair for the new Materials Provider Forum for Africa. This body, the first of its kind, has been created to bring together all courseware content providers to develop standards and resolve industry concerns. The immediate concern for the forum is trademark and copyright protection.

David Bester, GTSlearning Regional Director for the Africa region commented: "Over the past few years we have consolidated our position as the leading IT courseware provider in the South African market. We are honoured to be recognised for these efforts by CompTIA and our peers and are confident that we can drive the demand for standards-based certification into new markets and industry sectors through these initiatives".

"CompTIA South Africa announced its intention to restore the value of certification and raise the standard of the IT training industry in this region," says Loraine Vorster, Regional Director for CompTIA South Africa. "Our new program recognizes quality and high standards for both Material and Education Providers. GTSlearning has demonstrated to us that it is an Organisation that strives to deliver quality solutions. As the first of only three Gold Material Providers, and one of only two designated providers to our E2C program in the Gauteng region, we are proud to partner with like-minded Organisations such as GTSlearning."

"We are extremely pleased to hear the good news from David" said Robin Adda, Managing Director. "Our South African business is growing despite difficult industry trends, and we are very pleased with these achievements. We are especially excited to receive our third CompTIA award - we were winners of their Gold Award of Excellence in 1999 and the CompTIA Technology Award in 2001."
