GlobalEnglish Corporation celebrated by Brandon Hall Awards for Business English Learning Program Excellence
Award Recognizes GlobalEnglish Customers Capgemini and Unisys for “Best Use of Blended Learning” and “Best Results of a Learning Program”
Brisbane, CA - Sept. 26, 2012 - GlobalEnglish Corporation (www.GlobalEnglish.com), the leading provider of on-demand Business English software to advance Enterprise Fluency™ for global organizations, today announced that it has been recognized with two awards from the Brandon Hall Group for Learning Excellence in the categories of "Best Use of Blended Learning" and "Best Results of a Learning Program."
The Brandon Hall Group Learning Excellence Awards, now in their 18th year, is the most prestigious awards program in the industry and recognizes pioneers with products available in categories including learning, technology, talent management, and sales and marketing. All entries were submitted to a panel of research analysts and independent senior industry professionals with years of experience in a range of global corporations, government organizations, nonprofits and associations. Each entry was judged based a number of factors including program design, objectives, benefits and results.
Best Use of Blended Learning: Capgemini Italy
In the category of "Best Use of Blended Learning," GlobalEnglish received a gold award for its commitment to improving global employees' Business English capabilities and its drive for organizational excellence at Capgemini Italy. Capgemini consulting, a global IT services company headquartered in Paris, France, relies on the Business English proficiency of its 115,000 employees to assist clients with IT application development across the world.
Following a massive Business English assessment by GlobalEnglish, Capgemini Italy came to the realization that its workforce was much less proficient in Business English than was previously thought, and that a wide disparity in Business English skill levels existed across the organization. It was quickly determined that neither an online self-paced solution nor classroom training alone would suffice. As a result, the firm contracted GlobalEnglish to roll out a three-tiered solution.
In the first phase, Capgemini used GlobalEnglish STEP+™ to provide a detailed assessment of the Business English proficiency of its workers. This data was used to segment the workforce and establish goals based on a variety of factors and needs. Phase two consisted of rolling out the entire GlobalEnglish Suite in three tiers. Top executives and managers benefitted from personal coaching services through GlobalEnglish Coach™. Finally, all employees gained access to GlobalEnglish Edge™ for its formal Business English curriculum and on-the-job performance support tools. After finalizing the tiered approach, Capgemini introduced the program to employees with a special letter from the CEO, highlighting the program's direct alignment with organizational objectives.
As a result of Capgemini Italy's adoption of the GlobalEnglish Suite, the company reported a growth in English proficiency by more than 89% of its workforce as well as gains of approximately 2,900 person-days of productive time.
Best Results of a Learning Program: Unisys
GlobalEnglish was also recognized in the category of "Best Results of a Learning Program," receiving a bronze award from Brandon Hall for the results at Unisys, a worldwide information technology company. With more than 23,000 employees in over 100 countries, Unisys had sought a Business English solution that would allow it to reduce costs while boosting production.
In 2006, Unisys chose GlobalEnglish solutions to reach its enterprise goals as part of a volunteer enterprise initiative built to promote self-training. Unisys' goals for implementing the program included the improvement of employee communication skills, comprehensive reporting, minimized administrative costs, and increased efficiency, resulting in gains which would offset the cost of the program. Unisys was so satisfied with how well the GlobalEnglish Suite met these goals that they opened up the service to all non-native English speaking employees in the organization.
In a 2011 survey, Unisys employees reported a time savings of 2.1 hours per week, which translates to an estimated $4M+ annual net savings on investment. Today, some 14,000 Unisys employees in 44 countries have access to the GlobalEnglish's on-demand tools.
The recognition of Capgemini Italy and Unisys' Business English development programs by the Brandon Hall Awards further highlights GlobalEnglish's ability to positively impact the competency, productivity and performance of global employees with the world's leading Business English solutions. GlobalEnglish is well positioned to expand its existing enterprise Business English capabilities even further due to its recent acquisition by the world's leading learning company, Pearson.
