Research shows ongoing undervaluation of women's roles; Interview with Claire Williams, Ciphr.

The average gender pay gap for all workers in the UK is currently 13% in favour of men. But new research shows that even in those sectors where there is a predominantly female workforce, 70% still have gender pay gaps, in favour of men.

Jobs with the biggest gender pay gaps include office managers, lawyers, marketing managers and finance managers. And even 78% of clerical assistants, half a million female workers, have a gender pay gap: of around 5% compared to male clerical assistants.

Some jobs in care homes, community centres, welfare, and a host of professional education roles have gender pay gaps approaching 15%. The research was produced by HR software company Ciphr and Claire Williams from Ciphr is here to talk us through it.
