ELIG’s new Executive Committee represents an increasingly diverse learning industry
Newly elected ELIG Executive Committee has been extended to include new members and roles.
The drive to continually raise the profile of learning on the European political and commercial agendas has been given greater impetus with a newly expanded Executive Committee for the European Learning Industry Group (ELIG). The ELIG is an open industry group with members representing the full value chain of 21st century services, products and solutions in support of knowledge and learning advancement. The Executive Committee, which is elected on a biennial cycle, oversees the strategy for the group, identifies key areas to target and provides guidance on issues relating to policy initiatives.
The new ELIG Executive Committee, chaired once again by Fabrizio Cardinali, VP of Global Business Development at eXact Learning Solutions, the new market name of Giunti labs after the Company underwent a MBO in 2010, has been extended to include new roles and new members. These include Martti Raevaara of Aalto University, Finland, an example of the new public private partnerships in academia; Fadi A Khalek, McGraw-Hill, a globalised learning content provider and Rolf Granow of On Campus, Germany, a small and medium enterprise. Paul Hunter, Director of the Corporate Learning Network, IMD, takes on the newly created role of Vice Chair for the Group.

Public private partnerships are emerging as a new model within the education sector and global content development is increasingly commonplace.
“The breadth of the new Executive Committee reflects the growing importance being placed on learning – especially technology-enhanced learning – in the workplace. As rapid technology development learning becomes pervasive, and an increasingly competitive factor for organisations to relentlessly increase productivity and drive innovation, thus ELIG has a strategically critical role to raise awareness and enable high level discussion with key opinion formers and regulatory bodies,” he continues.
