BTL Group Ltd is pleased to announce that it has completed an 18 month project to convert 13 National Qualification English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) units into e-Enabled and interactive formats for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). The 13 ESOL units will be created as a SCORM package and also made available as CD ROMs.

BTL has previously worked with the SQA on a number of projects including: SOLAR, Physics e-Assessment, Core Skills Assessment, the Internet Safety Exam and ESOL. Together BTL and SQA have developed Initial Assessment Solutions, Online Formative and Summative Assessments as well as CD ROM based products.

BTL has experience of developing various learning and assessment resources aimed at ESOL students, including the BBC's Digital Curriculum - BBC Jam. With key experience in taking resources that are defined in paper form, and enhancing them into interesting, engaging and interactive activities, BTL was the ideal choice for the SQA.

Alan Wilson, Qualifications Manager, SQA states, "The Scottish Qualifications Authority is delighted to have collaborated with BTL in the production of the Interactive CD ROM of ESOL materials. All learners should find the materials helpful in honing skills of Listening and Reading - and the tape scripts should assist in improving pronunciation of spoken English. A thoroughly useful and exciting resource for all independent, motivated learners."
