Following another year of impressive growth, BroadSkill, the UK's largest supplier of freelance IT trainers and a major provider of IT solutions, announces the appointment of Håkan Gomér as non-executive director to help manage the next phase of company expansion.

Håkan Gomér is a venture capitalist with a strong background in IT and consulting. After gaining a doctorate in business administration and carrying out research at Harvard, Gomér worked for Bain & Company as a senior consultant before co-founding his own strategy consulting and investment firm. As chairman of Arkwright Group, he oversaw an annual growth rate in excess of 30% to a point where the firm employed 90 staff in Hamburg, London, Oslo, Paris and Stockholm.

Gomér's expertise in business strategy, financial analysis and venture financing will be invaluable in taking BroadSkill forward.

Håkan Gomér said: "BroadSkill is an exemplary company in the making. It has the kind of durable quality that makes a firm valuable to customers, the people working there, shareholders and, frankly, the wider community. The company has built a solid base for growth in an expanding sector of the economy - the matching of highly qualified professionals with demanding customers."

Stephen Fletcher, MD at BroadSkill, said: "I am extremely pleased to announce this appointment which will bring important new skills to the management team. Håkan's practical business background and incisive mind will make future board meetings more challenging, while his contacts will help open new doors. I look forward to working closely with Håkan to grow the business, whilst continuing to base our approach firmly on our ethical beliefs of caring for both clients and staff,"
