Aurion Learning delivers first phase of Diversity Now e-learning programme to Queen's University, Belfast
Aurion Learning has completed the first phase of its e-learning roll-out to Queen's University, Belfast.
Aurion Learning, a specialist e-learning solutions provider, was commissioned to design and deliver an equality and diversity e-learning programme for Queen's University staff. Diversity Now, which contains over one hour of interactive and thought provoking content, was first made available to staff in 2009 and will continue to be rolled-out during 2010.
Speaking about the development, Paul Browne, Equal Opportunities Manager at Queens said,
"We're really excited about our Diversity Now e-learning programme. Previously we delivered full day equality and diversity workshops to our staff. However, this wasn't the most efficient training method as it took a considerable amount of time.
Diversity Now provides us with a much more time and cost efficient solution to the provision of equality and diversity training. We are now able to provide training to our 3,700 staff members over a period of months and monitor staff uptake to produce compliance reports. We've also been able to cut costs (trainers, travel, room hire, reduced time spent away from desk) and deliver training in an environmentally friendly manner."
Dr Maureen Murphy, Managing Director of Aurion Learning, commented,
"The major challenge for us was to develop an online equality and diversity programme that would be equally relevant to all staff from porters to senior professors. Queen's were very clear that they didn't just want to focus on the legislation - our e-learning programme really had to make staff think and change any negative behaviours and attitudes. We're delighted that feedback from users has been very positive."
