Providing a software platform with functionality to manage the end to end process for both internal and external training.

Following a rigorous supplier selection process, Lancaster based software house accessplanit has been selected to provide a learning management and course booking system to support the training needs of the Citizens Advice service.

As the UK’s largest advice charity, the Citizens Advice service maintains a continuous programme to recruit and train staff and volunteers to take on a range of roles from giving advice to fundraising, admin, campaigning and trusteeship.  Through training, information systems and operational support Citizens Advice equip their 338 member bureaux to deliver the highest quality advice to its clients.

With somewhere in the region of 28,400 people working for the service, made up of 22,000 volunteers and 6,400 paid staff, Citizens Advice required a powerful system with the ability to deliver classroom based training and eLearning across their 338 member bureaux.  In addition, Citizens Advice imparts knowledge through commercial training programmes, creating the need for a software platform with functionality to manage the end to end process for both internal and external training.

“A training management system which could support our fairly complex internal training requirements and help drive our commercial business aspirations was a fairly big ask.   accessplanit’s Course Manager was one of the only systems on the market with the functionality we needed, but we were also impressed with the accessplanit team, their flexibility,  commitment to provide on-going support and their genuine enthusiasm to work with us.  This is not a short term project so choosing the right partner is critical to our success” explains Andrea Finlay, Citizens Advice service.

Dave Evans, accessplanit MD added: “We are delighted to be working with the Citizens Advice team.  This is a long term partnership and we are confident that working together we can deliver a raft of benefits to improve training delivery including real time employee and volunteer training visibility, standardization and compliance across bureaux, accurate management reporting and an improved user experience for all”.
