Since ELS’s inception just over ten years ago, it has been running regular PRojects IN Controlled Environments (PRINCE2®) courses - a globally recognised, process-based, method for effective project management. PRINCE2® is the standard method used by the UK government and is used extensively in both the public and private sectors.

Cath Convery, Head of Learning at ELS), said, “Effective project management is a key skill in all sectors of the economy – in the private and public sectors, as well as in academia. That’s demonstrated by the continuing level of demand we’re experiencing for PRINCE2® and the related courses that we offer.

“For individuals, PRINCE2® training and certification demonstrates, to existing or new employers, an understanding of this approach to project management and how it can be applied,” added Cath. “Implementing PRINCE2® methodology in your business practices promotes smoother working relationships with other like-minded companies - and keeps your projects under control when working with organisations that use alternative business practices.

“Although we’re predominantly a consultancy company, ELS has always delivered quality and effective training into the corporate sector,” Cath said. “We deliver internationally-recognised accredited courses and, where required, we design bespoke training packages around these.”

The PRINCE2®  method is in the public domain and offers non-proprietorial best practice guidance on project management. Its key features are:

•             A focus on business justification

•             A defined organisation structure for the project management team

•             A product-based planning approach

•             An emphasis on dividing the project into manageable and controllable stages

•             A flexibility that can be applied at a level appropriate to the project.

About PRINCE2®

PRINCE2® originates in 1996 – having been contributed to by a consortium of some 150 European organisations. PRINCE, which was established in 1989, has its origins in PROMPT, a project management method created in 1975.
