St Luke’s Hospice evidencing superb compliance to the CQC with Enterprise Study’s robust reporting capabilities

With strict statutory and mandatory regulations to adhere to in accordance with the Care Quality Commission, St Luke’s Hospice implemented the ES solution to ensure that their workforce continues to deliver exceptional clinical care.

Based in Devon, St Luke’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients with progressive and incurable life-limiting illness, who have complex symptoms and psychosocial needs requiring the input of a multi-professional palliative care team. Forming the backbone of the Hospice’s quality patient care ethos is the dedicated Education Team, who deliver training across a workforce of over 1,500 volunteers.

Following St Luke’s Board of Trustees’ decision to expand the Education Team, Gail Wilson, appointed Head of Education, joined the workforce and discovered that the system in place was not robust enough to provide her with the relevant information to assure the Board, Directors and Heads of Departments that their compliance training was up to speed. During a formal tendering process whereby several companies were invited to deliver demonstrations of their product, Enterprise Study’s Learning Management System (LMS) came out as a clear winner.

Only a few months since the implementation of the system, the Hospice has already seen a significant reduction in admin time, as well as vastly improved financial management. It has now also become extremely easy for St Luke’s to provide a clear audit trail with the  bolt-on Compliance Manager module, in order to evidence their compliance to their relatively new governing body -  the CQC.

Gail Wilson, Head of Education can’t recommend the system enough: “The flexibility ES delivers means it doesn’t matter how small or large the Hospice is, the product could help them. In the new world of commissioning, Hospices are going to have to evidence the skills of the staff. The ability to produce audit trails and reports to give to commissioners will be invaluable.”

Henry Jodrell, Managing Director of Enterprise Study also comments: “We are delighted that by deploying Enterprise Study’s LMS, the team at St Luke’s Hospice can continue to deliver high standards of care for their patients, combined with effective compliance reporting in an efficient and cost effective way. We believe that many other Hospices across the UK would benefit from the lead that St Luke’s have taken using the Enterprise Study solution to manage compliance management.”
