Majority of IT heads fear upcoming migration - Series of articles to challenge negative perceptions

London, UKLearning NewsCommelius Solutions

The training provider Commelius Solutions has launched a series of articles addressing forthcoming changes Microsoft is introducing next spring for its Windows XP and Office 2003.

The articles are inspired by the event which will take place next April. Microsoft will stop supporting its operating system Windows XP and Office suite 2003, which means many businesses will find themselves in a position of change or will face difficulties which will mostly affect their staff and as result their overall business performance.

Though the changes seem inevitable, as many as 78% of CIOs* fear the upcoming IT transformation they will face next year. Jon Shepstone, learning technology expert at Commelius Solutions says, “We discovered that many IT heads have a negative or even wrong idea of what migration to a new system must be like. Many of them think it’s a complicated and expensive process that might go badly and will disrupt their business. There are also those who think migration is all about having Office 2003 on their PCs one day and then Office 2013 the next; and their staff will somehow find their way around learning how to use it.”

Shepstone continues, “Both these perceptions are wrong and we want to change the existing status quo of migration and business transformation. That’s why we’re launching the articles which will challenge these negative views. We want to give confidence to IT managers and show them that migrating to a very new system can be successful if done the right way, and make them realise opportunities coming from that change.”

The first article titled “Ms Office migration – why fear success” has been already launched. It’s the first out of three posts that will appear on Commelius’ blog over the next few weeks.
